Sample Lesson Plans

Designing creative, student-centered lesson plans is a critical part of effective teaching. Here you’ll find a selection of lessons I have developed to support musical growth, critical thinking, and classroom engagement. Each plan is crafted to meet diverse learning needs while fostering a lifelong love for music.

Melody, Notes, and Rhythms

This introductory lesson engages young students in exploring the basic elements of music: melody, individual notes, and simple rhythms.  The lesson encourages creativity, active participation, and a joyful first experience with musical structure.

Improv for Kindergarten

In this lesson, Kindergarteners explore musical improvisation using body percussion and creative movement, building confidence, rhythm skills, and musical expression through playful activities.

Choral Lesson Plan

​In this lesson, students are introduced to a new choral piece, focusing on developing healthy vocal technique, sight-reading skills, and ensemble cohesion through guided rehearsal strategies.
